As we commemorate two hundred years of Peruvian independence in 2021, many social organisations have promoted proposals to consider the direction of other economies as a hope for bringing the country out of indicators of poverty, exclusion and inequality that the official proposals have not been able to achieve.

Many of these organisations have been the basis of movements at the national level, forming networks with international impact, such as the Grupo Red de Economía Solidaria del Perú (GRESP), which was created in 1997 and has managed to generate an impact in 24 localities in the country. It also promotes markets for farmers and artisans.
