From 21 to 28 February 2026, Cartagena de Indias will be the epicenter of international debates on economies for life, agrarian justice, and peoples’ sovereignty. RIPESS will actively participate in three key spaces: ECOOVIDA 2026, the Forum of Peoples and Social Movements: United for Land, Water, Territories and Dignity, and the International Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (ICARRD+20).
ECOOVIDA 2026 – Solidarity to Sow Life (21–23 February)

- Organizers: Prosperidad Social, with support from the Ministry of Labor and international social solidarity economy platforms.
- Venue: Centro Agroempresarial y Minero del SENA, Turbaco (Bolívar). Closing at Plaza de la Proclamación, Cartagena.
Brings together social movements, communities, solidarity economy organizations, and international cooperation to strengthen economic alternatives based on social justice, food sovereignty, and defense of territories.
RIPESS will share experiences and proposals from the Social Solidarity Economy at the global level.

Forum of Peoples and Social Movements: United for Land, Water, Territories and Dignity (22–23 February)

- Organizers: International Planning Committee for Food Sovereignty (IPC), with participation from global networks such as La Vía Campesina.
- Venue: Paraninfo Rafael Núñez Auditorium, Cartagena.
This autonomous forum brings together hundreds of delegates from peasant movements, Indigenous peoples, artisanal fishers, and rural workers from more than 70 countries.
It is a space to unite voices and present collective proposals ahead of ICARRD+20.

ICARRD+20 – International Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development (24–28 February)

- Organizers: Government of Colombia, with technical support from FAO.
- Venue: Cartagena de Indias Convention Center.
Will gather governments, multilateral organizations, peasant and Indigenous organizations from more than 100 countries to discuss the future of rural areas and agrarian justice.
Agenda includes debates on equitable access to land, peasant rights, food sovereignty, and governance of commons.
