RIPESS will once again participate in the International Meeting of Economies for Life – ECOOVIDA 2026, which will take place in Cartagena (Colombia) from 21 to 23 February 2026, under the theme “Solidarity to sow life.” This participation continues the active involvement of RIPESS members in the previous editions, ECOOVIDA 2024 and 2025, where experiences, learnings and proposals from the social and solidarity economy at the global level were shared.

ECOOVIDA has become a national and international space that brings together social organizations, communities, popular movements, state entities, academia and international cooperation to strengthen dialogue, coordination and the collective construction of economies centered on life, dignity and the well-being of territories.

A space for economies for life

The meeting promotes a vision of development based on:

  • Human dignity, recognizing the work, knowledge and capacities of communities.
  • Care for the territory and nature, promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible productive practices.
  • Solidarity and cooperation, as principles guiding fair economic relations.
  • Inclusion and diversity, incorporating gender, age, ethnic and cultural perspectives.
  • Strengthening community fabric, essential for social cohesion and territorial development.

A contribution to global debates

The Government of Colombia and the convening platforms aim for ECOOVIDA 2026 to contribute to international debates on social justice, rural development and the governance of economic and food systems, especially in the context of ICARRD+20, which will also take place in Colombia.

RIPESS deeply values this space, which makes it possible to highlight territorial experiences, innovative public policies and community processes that strengthen social, solidarity, popular and community economies. The participation of our networks in 2024 and 2025 has demonstrated the importance of connecting global and local perspectives, and in 2026 we will continue contributing to this collective construction.
