Your support ensures full, diverse participation with interpreting in 17+ languages at the 3rd Nyéléni Global Forum, uniting 50+ movements.
Confronted with an escalating overlapping crisis—economic, social, democratic, ecological, health, patriarchal, and racist—we, global social movements, are not sitting idly by.
For over three years, we have been mobilizing at the national, regional, and global levels to build a global alliance capable of advancing and implementing real solutions rooted in the needs of people and communities.
This process has already united hundreds among the world’s most prominent grassroots movements of peasants, Indigenous Peoples, workers, feminists, climate justice and health activists, and social solidarity economy practitioners, and it will culminate in a Global Nyéléni Forum*, from September 6–13, 2025, in Sri Lanka.
The Global Nyéléni Forum will gather over 500 participants, including small-scale food producers, civil society organizations, and activists from 80+ countries.
It will be a pivotal moment for grassroots movements to meet, exchange knowledge, practices, and strategies, and consolidate a common political action agenda that lays out a pathway towards a radical change of the system, from the bottom up. To make this possible, we must ensure everyone is able to participate and express themselves freely. Language justice is key to building a truly global movement.
Your support can help us ensure simultaneous interpretation 17+ is fully provided for, allowing for an inclusive and enabling environment.
Why does this matter? In 2007, at the 1st Nyéléni Forum, Food Sovereignty – rooted in people’s control over food systems – was conceived and defined as an alternative to top-down food security programs. This concept and the political agenda it embeds, has since influenced national constitutions and global debates.
Today, in a world shaken by pandemics, wars, and climate disasters, food sovereignty is more urgent than ever.
Help us bring frontline voices to the center. This campaign supports travel, interpretation systems, and infrastructure for a people-led global forum.
The future must be shaped by those most affected—and that starts with solidarity.
