The 8th SSE Academy coorganized by International Labor Organization and the Global Social Economy Forum Secretariat will be held in Seoul on 26-30 June 2017.

This ILO Academy is the first edition of such taking place in Asia, and expectations are very high. Seoul under the leadership of Mayor Park Won Soon has become one of the most progressive major cities in Asia, and it is no wonder that the City is also sponsoring the event.

For 5 days, participants of the Academy will be able to engage in stimulating discussions on establishing SSE eco-systems with emphasis on the employment generation, governance, social finance and co-construction of public policies. Round tables, site visits followed by SSE elective courses will be offered for participants.

Although the Academy has been going on in other continents such as Africa and Latin America, this will be the first where key members of the RIPESS Continental Network has a strong presence. Former president Benjamin Quinones and current president Denison Jayasooria of ASEC/RIPESS-Asia will be offering their inputs in the academy so as to bring its contents of the learning experience more driven towards the values that we share at RIPESS.

In addition, the Academy will be co-organized by the Global Social Economy Forum Secretariat, also a member of ASEC/RIPESS-Asia.

In Asia we are beginning to see these convergence of movements centered on the values and visions of SSE. ASEC will continue to broaden its partnerships with other continental/regional networks to effectively share our values.
