The African Network for Social and Solidarity Economy (RAESS), in coordination with RIPESS and with the support of the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD), will hold an Information and Training Seminar on the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) on 28–29 November 2025 at the Higher School of Technology of Guelmim, in the Oued Noun region of Morocco.

This seminar forms part of the project “Regionalisation through an Intersectional Approach to Implementing the UN Resolution on Promoting the SSE for Sustainable Development” (ACCD–RIPESS 2025), which aims to promote the implementation of UN Resolution A/RES/77/281 and strengthen public policies on SSE from an intersectional perspective.

The event will bring together 30 participants from Morocco and 20 participants from other African countries (online), mainly women and youth from cooperatives, associations, social enterprises, and other SSE organisations.

Topics covered will include:

  • The UN Resolution A/RES/77/281 promoting SSE for sustainable development
  • The ILO Resolution on Decent Work and SSE
  • The African Union’s Decennial Strategy on SSE
  • Tools for policy dialogue, advocacy, and strategic coordination
  • Strengthened understanding of international SSE frameworks (UN, ILO, AU)
  • Development of a national and regional action plan
  • Creation of an advocacy group coordinated by RAESS
  • Production of a seminar report with recommendations

Organised by RAESS with the participation of its Board of Directors and a Moroccan facilitator.
Supported by the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD).
