From September 8 to 12, Bolivia hosts the Ibero-American Meeting on Social and Solidarity Economy, a strategic space for regional dialogue, proposal building, and the strengthening of public policies around SSE. This event, organized by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) and the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy of the Government of Spain, brings together representatives from over 20 Ibero-American countries.

RIPESS LAC is actively participating in this forum, contributing its expertise in regional articulation, political advocacy, and the promotion of transformative economic models. The meeting aims to consolidate the Ibero-American Network for the Promotion of Social and Solidarity Economy and to conclude the process of strengthening regional capacities led by AACID and EAES.

RIPESS LAC will take part in the dialogue panel on social inclusion, equity, and gender equality through employment and the social economy: instruments and pending challenges, on Wednesday, September 10.

Key objectives of the event include:

  • Exchanging visions, experiences, and strategies to address 21st-century challenges through SSE
  • Designing inclusive and sustainable public policies with a territorial and participatory approach
  • Creating dialogue laboratories to build consensus and draft a structured document to serve as a regional reference
  • Mobilizing international and regional support to position SSE as a pillar of fair and resilient development

The commitment to these objectives will be reflected in a document to be presented in various national and international forums, including the preparatory meetings for the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, to be held in Spain in 2026.

RIPESS reaffirms its commitment to building more equitable, sustainable, and solidarity-based territories, and celebrates this Ibero-American space for articulation around the Social and Solidarity Economy as a key opportunity to move forward collectively.
