As every year, RIPESS will participate in the 114th International Labour Conference (ILC), taking place from 1 to 12 June 2026 in Geneva. This year, RIPESS will be represented by Akkanut Wantanasombut (Thailand), from RIPESS ASEC – Research Group in Innovation for Social Solidarity and Inclusive Economy in Asia, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, who will follow the discussions on Decent work in the platform economy.
The International Labour Conference, organised by the International Labour Organization (ILO), brings together government, employer and worker delegations from all 187 Member States to set international labour standards and debate key policy issues.
Building on its active participation in the ILC 2025, focused on Reclaiming the Platform Economy through Social Solidarity, as well as in the ILC 2024, where RIPESS succeeded in placing the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) on the ILO’s agenda on care economies, and in the ILC 2023, where it contributed to integrating SSE into the ILO’s Just Transition agenda, RIPESS reaffirms its commitment to strengthening SSE as a key actor in social protection and the promotion of decent work.
This ongoing work in political advocacy and networking is part of RIPESS’ roadmap to support the regional and intercontinental implementation of the UN General Assembly Resolutions 77/281 and 79/213, which promote the SSE as a driver of sustainable development through an intersectional approach. It also builds on the ILO Resolution on decent work and the social and solidarity economy, which served as a major stepping stone toward the adoption of these landmark UN resolutions.
