Shanthigram, Natham – September 28, 2025:
The three-day ASSEFA Sangamam 2025 conference began today at Shanthigram village in Natham with the ceremonial lighting of the traditional lamp by Sri J. Chandrapaul, Chairman of ASSEFA. This significant gathering brings together stakeholders to reflect on the progress of Community Organisations promoted by ASSEFA, revisit the ideals of the second phase of the Bhoodan Movement, and lay out a roadmap for the years ahead.

The inaugural session saw active participation from senior functionaries representing over 50 organisations across Tamil Nadu, all committed to improving the lives of rural women, youth, and farmers. The spirit of collaboration and shared purpose is evident.

Sri S. Pandian ji, a respected Gandhian and veteran social worker, graced the event and blessed the participants. In his address, he underscored the enduring relevance of grassroots movements in building a just, inclusive, and sustainable rural society.

The event has been thoughtfully organised under the leadership of Sri S. Loganathan ji, Executive Director of ASSEFA. He expressed confidence that the sessions over the next two days would result in actionable outcomes to further strengthen community-led development efforts.

The second day of ASSEFA Sangamam began on September 29, 2025, with the commencement of a compelling and insightful debate on the theme of ASSEFA Education and its broader implications.

The session has just started but has already drawn a remarkable turnout of over 500 participants—including teachers, parents, and community members—demonstrating a shared commitment to shaping a meaningful and transformative educational journey for the younger generation.

The debate will explore six vital dimensions of education:

  1. How ASSEFA Education Differs from Regular Education Programs
  2. Education as a Foundation for the Students’ Future
  3. The Crucial Role of Parents in Their Children’s Education
  4. Education for Social Development.
  5. Interlinking Education and Healthcare
  6. The Need for Multidisciplinary Education

With educators from various ASSEFA schools leading the conversation, the debate is set to be a vibrant exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives. Though just underway, it already promises to ignite new insights and strengthen the collective vision for ASSEFA’s transformative education model.
