The African Network for Social and Solidarity Economy (RAESS), the Cameroon Network for Social and Solidarity Economy (RESSCAM), and RIPESS, with the support of the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation (ACCD), are organizing from 15 to 17 December the launch of the JeunESS Hub Africa, a space to boost youth participation in the Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE) across the continent.
The event will bring together representatives of networks, institutions, and local initiatives to identify and characterize the socio-economic dynamics of young people and women, and to strengthen regional cooperation around SSE.
Main objectives
- Present the JeunESS Hub as a catalyst for innovation and collective youth entrepreneurship.
- Analyse the challenges and opportunities of youth participation in SSE.
- Share inspiring experiences of hubs and local projects in Africa.
- Promote women’s good practices in resilience, food sovereignty, and agroecology.
- Create national and local committees to drive SSE from youth perspectives.
Programme highlights
- Day 1 (15 December): Institutional opening, presentation of the ACCD project, and sessions on youth participation challenges, social innovation, and collective entrepreneurship.
- Day 2 (16 December): Debate on solidarity financing mechanisms, building strategic alliances, and presentation of inspiring experiences (Impact Hub Bamako, GIC Fruit Béni, GIC Saint Pascal, JeunESS Tunisia).
- Day 3 (17 December): Workshops on identifying local dynamics of youth and women, systematization of good practices for podcast, and official launch of the JeunESS Hub Africa.

Expected impact
The JeunESS Hub is conceived as a regional articulation space that will transform challenges into opportunities, strengthen the voice of young people and women in SSE, and consolidate an inclusive and sustainable ecosystem in Africa.
