The next Board Meeting will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from June 23rd-24th. This meeting will mark the end of the coordination mandate taken on by Nancy Neamtan and the Chantier de l’économie sociale (Québec,Canada) team during the last two years. RIPESS has always functioned on the basis of a rotation of coordination duties between continents.

 

Ben Quiñones of the Asian Solidarity Economy Network (ASEAN) will take on the next executive coordination mandate of the RIPESS. As executive coordinator, in collaboration with all board members, he will ensure that the RIPESS action plan approved by the Board in 2012 is carried out. This includes, amongst other things, the organisation of the Fifth Meeting on the Globalisation of Solidarities that will take place inManila,Philippinesin November 2013.

 

Ben has a PhD in Organization Development and is currently President, On Eagles Wings Development FoundationPhilippinesand Chairman of the Coalition of Socially Responsible Small and Medium Enterprises inAsia. He is a founding member of the Asian Solidarity Economy Forum and a member of the RIPESS intercontinental board since 2009.

 

Ben Quiñones will be supported by a new Operations Manager, Daniel Tygel from Brazil. To carry out its work, RIPESS is happy to be able to count on the financial support of the Fondation pour le progrès de l’homme (France).
