RIPESS Intercontinental is pleased to share its 2025 Activity Report, highlighting a year marked by significant advocacy achievements, stronger global alliances, and the continued expansion of the Social Solidarity Economy (SSE) movement worldwide. The report reflects the collective efforts of our members, partners, and allies across all continents to advance economic models that place people, communities, and the planet at the centre.
The report provides an overview of the work carried out throughout 2025 by RIPESS Intercontinental and its continental networks in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America, and Oceania. It documents key initiatives, lessons learned, and collective achievements that continue to strengthen the global SSE movement.
Among the year’s most notable milestones was the historic inclusion of the Social and Solidarity Economy in the Sevilla Commitment adopted at the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), marking the first time the SSE was explicitly recognised in a global financing for development framework. The report also highlights RIPESS’ active participation in major international processes, including the World Forum on Local Economic Development (WFLED), the Nyéléni Global Forum on Food Sovereignty, the Global Social Economy Forum (GSEF), and the Second World Summit for Social Development.
The publication showcases regional advances in public policy advocacy, youth leadership, social protection, care, food sovereignty, solidarity finance, and territorial development. It also demonstrates how SSE organisations and networks continue to provide concrete solutions to today’s social, economic, and environmental challenges.
In addition, the report reflects the strengthening of RIPESS’ governance structures, the ongoing growth of intercontinental cooperation, and the collective commitment to building transformative economies rooted in solidarity, democracy, and social justice.
