Job Description:

Under the direction of the Board of Directors  and especially the Coordination, the role of the Executive Secretary is to:

  1. Coordinate (i) the activities of the Board of directors and working groups in implementing the RIPESS work plan, (ii) the activities that may arise from the participation of RIPESS in various international bodies, (iii) the work of full time or part time other staff such as communications to ensure fluid communications in three languages, through the different internal and external channels, (iv) regular relations with the continental members (v), international organisations (vi) and with partner organizations.
  2. Contribute to producing analyses or information necessary for effective decision making and to work with the Coordination to prepare and organise Board meetings.
  3. Take on other tasks identified by the Board or the Coordination to advance the RIPESS action plan as required.
  4. Supervise financial operations in collaboration with the person appointed by the Coordination.

The Executive Secretary may work from any geographic location but should be in constant communication with members of the RIPESS Board, especially with the Coordination and the Secretariat. Subject to availability of funds, the Executive Secretary should also be available to travel internationally to support the organisation of RIPESS’ continental meetings and occasionally the international meetings of its continental members.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the international structures for the support and promotion of the social solidarity economy.
  • Excellent oral and written knowledge of French, English and Spanish is essential.
  • Experience coordinating the preparations for on-line meetings, take minutes, etc.
  • Availability to work full time (or at least 35h per week.)
